Our plans for a drive Saturday have changed. We will now be traveling to Ft. Smith and the U.S. Marshal’s Museum instead of Oark. Arrive at the Holiday Inn convention center parking lot at the corner of 412 and 48th St. in Springdale WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS at 9:45 am for a 10:00 am departure. The chance for some rain at this moment is 30% to 40%. If you are worried about driving your British car in the rain, just bring your daily driver. I may be leading in my White F-150. Here are turn-by-turn directions to our first stop in Ft. Smith at the Bricktown Brewery for lunch. The Museum is only about six blocks away from the Brewery. After touring the Museum, we will reverse course back home. If you prefer, you can just take I-40 & I-49 back home. This should be a fun and interesting trip that we should all enjoy and have a good time together. This rout is designed so that we don’t have to drive on the Interstate highways. We will be going Standard highway speeds (60 – 70 MPH). I anticipate two hours to Ft. Smith an hour and a half for lunch, two hours at the Museum and two hours driving back home arriving about 5:30 ish. We will have a drive up to Springfield for the annual GOBMC all British car show Saturday morning. We will meet at the parking lot behind 7 Brew at the intersection of N. 2nd Street and Hwy 62 in NE Rogers. Gather early as we will depart at 7:30. This will help us beat the heat a little and get there by 9:30. It is usually a good event so let’s turnout and support them.
The 22nd annual Greater Ozarks British Motoring Club (GOBMC) Car Show, Brits at the Post, will be held June 29th at the American Legion Post 639 located at 2660 S. Scenic Ave., Springfield, MO.
